I found this type of communication can be very useful and insightful. I heard teachers exchange ideas and projects they are trying with their students in different parts of the United States and I’m pretty sure around the world also. There are no borders when you are on-line learning from other people. I also heard that technology can be very motivating for students to learn. They have a purpose and they are going to have an audience and that is a motivating for them to learn new content. Someone also suggested that there is more out there to offer than just microsoft office. I agree, since we started this class I believe I came a long way in my use of the tools that are available online. I have found that the internet is way much more than just for research purposes. There was a big discussion on digital pictures, making videos, and video production. I just listened and found the discussion to be worthwhile. I can see why students are inspired to learn, its the technology, they can see a finished product that can be viewed by their peers, school or community. And it is a fun way to do something.
I think you should check this site, really good videos on why we should encourage the use of the internet.

I was wondering if the kids would put even more effort into their work knowing that it could potentially be viewed by people all over the world? Or can they really grasp the scope?
